Apprentices take care of schoolgirls

Five schoolgirls from MS Waldzell, MS Eberschwang and TNMS 2 Ried took advantage of the Girls' Day to get a taste of industry in the WINTERSTEIGER apprenticeship workshop. In the modern "Smart Factory Lab", the girls were first given an overview of the company and the many training opportunities.

Then it was straight into practice: WINTERSTEIGER trainees had prepared various tasks and stations, such as electrical and soldering work, first steps on the robot as well as on the lathe and milling machine, and supervised the girls as mentors. After a productive morning, the girls had lunch together and were able to discuss their future plans.

"For a mechanical engineering company, the proportion of women in our company is quite high, and Girls' Day can be the start of a successful career in an international company. Girls are very welcome, all doors are open," explains WINTERSTEIGER apprentice trainer Christian Scharnböck, who organized Girls' Day for the 14th time this year.

WINTERSTEIGER trains around 60 apprentices at its Ried location. In addition to technical content, the program includes seminars on personal development during the apprenticeship. The possibility of taking the Matura in the second year of the apprenticeship rounds off the training program.
