DSB Singlehead Offers Precise and Highly Productive Wet-Cutting

Greater flexibility, reduced costs for stock, significantly shorter drying times of lamellas compared to timber boards and therefore less capital tied up in raw materials - these are the key advantages of cutting wet timber.

The kerf in standard wet-cutting is around 1.8 to 2.2 mm with a tolerance range of up to +/-0.5 mm for conventional and mobile band saw technology. The high tolerance gives rise to an additional loss of material due to subsequent calibration of the lamellas.

WINTERSTEIGER's latest generation of thin-cutting band saws with their flexible design and extremely low cutting loss are impressive due to their remarkable performance and increased efficiency in highly productive wet-cutting.

The thin 1.1 mm kerf and high precision of +/-0.15 mm are the most significant advantages of WINTERSTEIGER's highly productive wet-cutting technology. The innovative feed system with top and bottom driven feed rollers ensures that blocks are drawn in continuously. Rubber-shored and special treated feed rollers and in combination with an highly counter-pressure loaded system ensure optimum grip and minimum friction. At the same time, the hard chrome-plated supporting table guarantees maximum stability of the workpiece.

The DSB Singlehead unites absolute precision with above-average performance in the production of high-quality wet-cut lamellas for the following areas:

  • Top layers for multi-layer parquet
  • Multi-layer boards
  • Panels
  • Thick veneers
  • Doors and windows
  • Pencil boards
  • Saw mill resawing
  • and much, much more
