2021 Photo Competition—Congratulations!

This year’s jury unanimously selected Luis Vendrell from Agricultura Ensayo in Spain as winner of the 2021 photo competition. His unique photo shows a fork of lightning, which only lasts for around a second. Photographing thunderstorms is also more difficult during the daytime than it is at night. The image perfectly captures the special atmosphere: The storm is very close by yet harvesting still needs to be completed—a familiar situation for all seed breeders.
