Schoolgirls showed their technical talent

Out of school, into the company: 9 girls took the opportunity on 25 April 2019 to get a taste of industrial air at WINTERSTEIGER AG on Girls' Day.

For one day, the girls were able to experience first hand what it means to work in a mechanical engineering company. After a short theoretical part with information about the WINTERSTEIGER Group and the training programme, they tried out their first metalworking techniques in the electrical workshop, in assembly and in the training workshop. They were busy turning, milling and screwing and the pupils showed a lot of technical skills.

The Girls' Day was coordinated by apprentice trainer Christian Scharnböck, who is very pleased with the enthusiasm of the schoolgirls and explains: "In addition to the classic female occupations, the girls also have access to industry. Whether as mechanical engineers, electrical engineers or design engineers, they are very welcome to join us."

WINTERSTEIGER trains around 40 apprentices at its Ried site. In addition to technical content, the programme also includes seminars on personal development during the apprenticeship. The option of starting with the school leaving examination (Matura) from the second year of apprenticeship rounds off the training offer.
