Partners for 20 years: ÖSV and WINTERSTEIGER

WINTERSTEIGER AG and the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) have been working together since 1998. On June 26, 2018, the cooperation agreement was extended once again.

WINTERSTEIGER is the exclusive machine supplier to the ÖSV. At the ÖSV Competence Center in Bramberg and its Tyrolean facility at Hall in Tyrol, the structures and edges of skis for Alpine and Nordic disciplines are done with WINTERSTEIGER ski service machines. “The value of our relationship with WINTERSTEIGER has been proven time and time again. Each side complements the other with the result that both enjoy some special advantages. For us, these are the decades of experience that flow into every WINTERSTEIGER machine and the innovative spirit with which the WINTERSTEIGER team continue to engineer their products,” explains Peter Schröcksnadel, president of the Austrian Ski Federation.

WINTERSTEIGER in turn benefits from some valuable input in the shape of knowledge and feedback from the sport’s professionals. Many race service technologies have arisen from this relationship, the most recent being the Mercury automated ski service machine, which can optionally be fitted with a racing module and was engineered in close collaboration with the ÖSV. Daniel Steininger, Head of Sales SPORTS, adds: “The findings from racing use help us to improve the machines. These new technologies are then incorporated into our serial production machines to the benefit of countless sport shops that offer a race service.”

Race service team established.

As a race service is a subject of great importance to WINTERSTEIGER, the company has established its own specialist team for this area. CEO Dr. Florestan von Boxberg explains: “This team is available as the primary contact for race departments. By concentrating our race service activities and packing our machines full of our racing know-how, we can ensure we supply the best tools possible.”

Insoles and socks for athletes and coaches.

The cooperation agreement with the ÖSV also includes products from the BOOTDOC and HOTRONIC brands. WINTERSTEIGER kits out the athletes from the entire Austrian ski team – all disciplines and squads – with BOOTDOC products. 300 athletes took advantage of this opportunity to be issued with insoles tailored precisely to their needs in 2017. The ÖSV coaches, meanwhile, are delighted with the HOTRONIC Heat Socks, consigning to history cold feet during long training sessions.
