15 years of the WINTERSTEIGER Golf Trophy

Guests from Austria, Germany, and South Tyrol at the WINTERSTEIGER 15th anniversary Golf Trophy

This year WINTERSTEIGER hosted its golf tournament for the 15th time. Around 70 sports retailers from Austria, Germany, and South Tyrol accepted the invitation and put their skills to the test in perfect golf weather.

WINTERSTEIGER chose the Audi Golf Course in Griesbach for the anniversary tournament. Designed by the world-class golfer Bernhard Langer, this course is particularly attractive to both professional and amateur players alike due to its beautiful natural surroundings.

Once the score cards had been handed out following a welcome brunch in the "Gutshof Penning" club house, the participants gathered out on the course and spent the rest of the day swinging, putting, and chipping to their hearts' content.

An awards ceremony in the four-star sports hotel “Das Ludwig” brought the tournament to an exciting conclusion. It was hosted by impressionist Wolf Frank, known for his work on TV and radio – the Lotto and Toto lottery announcements among others. He perfectly imitated well-known personalities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and made it an evening to remember.

In terms of gross strokes played, the men’s competition was won by Stefan Kutos, while Monika Breitfuss (Intersport Breitfuss, Hinterglemm) received the women’s prize. The winner of the net score prize in Group A was Christoph Margreiter (Ski und Board Margreiter, Wildschönau). Andreas Praschl came top of Group B, and in Group C, Felix Maniak took home the prize. Amongst the special awards, Michael Hagleitner (Sport Hagleitner, Saalbach) won the “Nearest to the Pin“ competition, while the “Longest Drive“ award was given to Monika Breitfuss in the women’s category and Gerhard Huditz (Atomic Austria GmbH) in the men’s category.

As per tradition, the guests from South Tyrol unpacked their guitars and gave wonderful renditions of popular songs, ensuring an enjoyable end to the evening.
