More than 1,600 seed professionals from 36 countries gathered December 6-9 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago for the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) Corn, Soybean and Sorghum (CSS) Seed Expo's first return to an in person event since the pandemic. The ASTA CSS & Seed Expo 2021 was an excellent opportunity to meet face to face with other seed professionals, scientists, educators, and farmers and for WINTERSTEIGER to introduce the new Quantum Pro plot combine.

The Quantum Pro is the most powerful machine in Wintersteiger’s single plot combine line up and part of the Quantum Combine Family, which consists of three different models. All sharing the same Quantum Technology. The combines set new benchmarks in terms of throughput, user-friendliness, and seed handling, all to your benefit.

The Quantum Pro was developed together with market leading corn and soybean research companies to meet their goals for handling high yielding corn and soybean varieties. The visionary design of this machine provides a strong base for all upcoming challenges in the row crop research.

Due to the wide headers and huge grain tank, the Quantum Pro makes a perfect fit for seed multiplications and foundation seed operations as well. Its smart and modular design makes cleaning the machine easier than ever, to meet purity standards.

The 2021 ASTS CSS & Seed Expo utilized an interesting new platform that provided "Villages" for each aspect of the programming. Each village contained a session theatre, relevant exhibitors to those sessions, networking tables and lounges and "Food Trucks" (simulations) - that offered a food festival experience around the entire event. Additionally, to help celebrate the ability to get together again - each village hosted a networking reception every night during the conference.

  • The TECH Village in the West Tower featured the latest in ag tech innovations and digital agriculture.
  • The FIELD Village showcased topics related to operations, logistics, and all of the processing, logistical, sorting and equipment exhibitors. WINTERSTEIGER had a Quantum Pro plot combine on display in the FIELD Village.
  • The LEAD Village was a new home for career skills, talent development, and research/lab facilities.
  • The TREAT Village was where you found the key players, and sessions on the important topic of seed treatment.

While participation was down compared to pre-pandemic years for America’s largest seed industry conference, it was still a great week of education, collaboration, and networking.
