Sport, Fun and Games at the 7th Wintersteiger Golf Trophy
Ried/I. 80 sports dealers from Austria, Germany and South Tyrol took up the invitation to the 7th Wintersteiger Golf Trophy on 25 September 2009 in the beautiful Kobernausserwald. The golfers were able to demonstrate their ability under perfect weather conditions - along with fame and glory there were also valuable prizes to be won.
The day started at the company's headquarters in Ried with a generous brunch before the official starting signal for the seventh Wintersteiger Golf Trophy was given at 12.30 pm. After the score cards including welcome gift had been handed out, the participants met up at the attractive Sonnberg golf club in Kobernausserwald. For the rest of the day it was a case of swinging clubs, putting and chipping to the best of one's ability.
Excellent refreshments were also served during the tour: well-filled lunch boxes and a schnapps here and there helped the ambitious golfers to keep up their strength over the demanding 18-hole course. Following the successful competition, the winners of the 7th Wintersteiger Golf Trophy were honoured in the newly built club restaurant of the Sonnberg golf club.
Markus Wolf (IS Patscherkofel, Igls) took the men's gross score, the prize for the best lady in the rankings went to Monika Breitfuss (IS Breitfuss, Hinterglemm). The winner of the net score in Group A was Siegfried Breitfuss (IS Breitfuss, Hinterglemm). Peter Lange (German Ski Federation) won in Group B and Harald Zott (Waldhof Sports, Scheffau) took home the prize in Group C.
Tasty culinary delights in the form of a three-course meal and a spontaneous musical concert by the guests from South Tyrol provided for an extremely sociable finale to the event. All 80 participants were agreed on one thing at least and that was to be present again at the 8th Wintersteiger Golf Trophy 2010.
