New company name: VAP-WINTERSTEIGER GmbH

Ried im Innkreis, Mettmach / Since 2012, VAP "Gruber Automations GmbH" from Mettmach has been part of the WINTERSTEIGER Group. In April the company was rebranded as "VAP-WINTERSTEIGER GmbH". The head office of VAP-WINTERSTEIGER GmbH and its 40-strong workforce will remain in Mettmach.

 

Within the WINTERSTEIGER Group, VAP-WINTERSTEIGER is the plant engineering and automation specialist. Its customers include both industrial manufacturers and companies from the timber and construction sectors. From feasibility studies to remote maintenance of the overall installation, VAP-WINTERSTEIGER delivers automation solutions for the production of windows, engineered flooring, furniture, and multi-layer boards, as well as large sawmills.

Special tasks such as transport systems, ultrasonic testing machines, processing systems for rough cast parts, palletizing, heat treatment, packaging, and parts identification and tracing are also part of the company's portfolio.

 

Pooled timber expertise in the "World of WOODTECH".

The new company name reflects the deeper level of integration between WINTERSTEIGER and VAP. In future, the WINTERSTEIGER Group will be pooling its expertise in wood under the umbrella term "World of Woodtech". In addition to VAP-WINTERSTEIGER, the World of Woodtech also includes the saw blade specialist WINTERSTEIGER Sägen GmbH in Arnstadt, Thuringia, and, since 2019, SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH in Rimsting, Bavaria as a manufacturer of mobile and stationary sawmill technology. Combined with saw machines for the precision thin-cutting of wood, the core competence of WINTERSTEIGER in Ried, Upper Austria, the company offers a broad range of products and services to the timber industry: from saw blades, sawmills, and thin-cutting saws to fully automated woodworking machines and production line optimization through customized automation solutions.
