WINTERSTEIGER and FLDI Join Forces
Cross-Border Cooperation on Seed Breeding Equipment
Starting in October 2021, the machinery and plant engineering company WINTERSTEIGER AG in Austria and FLDI, a manufacturer of specialized agricultural machinery in France, will enter into a closer partnership.
FLDI (François Lapeyre Développement Industriel) has been a partner of WINTERSTEIGER for 10 years. The company, located 60 km south of Toulouse, supports WINTERSTEIGER’s SEEDMECH division with machine service, customer support, and certifications. This partnership will be further strengthened and expanded.
Joint service, sales, and development activities.
In addition to WINTERSTEIGER’s extensive service network in France, FLDI will also perform in-house machine maintenance in the future. This offering is intended to further improve service quality in France. Conversely, FLDI’s seed breeding solutions will be newly incorporated into the WINTERSTEIGER portfolio. The third area of cooperation involves joint development efforts. New products can be developed collaboratively—tailored to market needs. For decades, FLDI has been developing all kinds of specialized machinery for agriculture, such as a harvester for onion blossoms. This broad expertise, combined with WINTERSTEIGER’s global sales network, creates perfect synergy.
Christopher Schiehauer, General Manager of the SEEDMECH Division, explains: “Given its location—surrounded by sunflower and grain fields and with many of our customers nearby—FLDI is ideally suited for closer collaboration. We are very pleased with this decision, and I am convinced that both sides will benefit greatly from it.”
François Lapeyre, Managing Director of the FLDI Group, confirms: “ Our company has grown significantly in the field of seed breeding over the past 10 years. It’s only natural that we turn to WINTERSTEIGER. With our agility and technical expertise, combined with WINTERSTEIGER’s international reach, we can expand the range of machinery available to our customers. We are very pleased about this collaboration.”
