WINTERSTEIGER celebrates 70th anniversary

WINTERSTEIGER celebrates 70th anniversary© WINTERSTEIGER

Five thousand guests flocked to the WINTERSTEIGER company premises for the open day on April 30. The atmosphere on the day was truly exceptional. The machine and plant engineering company put together a great program with a folk festival feel: including mini road trains, the WINTERSTEIGER band in the marquee, free ice cream, face painting for children, painting stations, a fun park for the whole family, and various competitions throughout the day.

The mini trains ferried visitors between the different stations where they could watch machine demos: the automatic bike washing system, automated ski service machine, plot combine, stationary SERRA sawmill and thin-cutting band saws. A highlight on the route was the production and assembly halls, where visitors got to track the digital manufacturing process for a combine axle and a machining module for ski service machines from start to finish.

Ried's mayor Bernhard Zwielehner was in attendance, and brought with him an unusual and very special birthday gift: as of July 1, Johann-Michael-Dimmel-Strasse will become Wintersteigerstrasse!
