Storage systems specialist QBL joins WINTERSTEIGER group

3/17/2026

With the integration of QBL into the WINTERSTEIGER Group, the company is taking strategic steps to enhance its storage systems expertise and expanding its portfolio across the entire customer journey.

Ried/I., March 2026. Effective March 9, QBL is now part of the WINTERSTEIGER Group. An established supplier of storage and drying systems, the Polish company was previously a strong competitor in the sports sector. With QBL set to be integrated into the new Storage Systems business field in the Division Sports, WINTERSTEIGER is taking a clear strategic step to further enhance its portfolio in this segment.

The aim of the merger is to systematically expand WINTERSTEIGER's existing portfolio across the customer journey. The focus is on integrated solutions – from ski and bike services for workshops, to drying and hygiene systems as well as shop equipment, through to all store fittings needed at the point of sale. With this move, WINTERSTEIGER is responding to growing demand for holistic, coordinated solutions in the sports retail segment.

Targeted expansion of the product portfolio

The advantages are clear from the customer and partner perspective, as integrated solutions mean fewer interfaces, more efficient processes, and close cooperation along the value chain. Going forward, the individual service modules will now link up even more effectively, from planning and implementation to the final result in the store.

The company's targeted expansion of its portfolio forms the basis for this, as the integration of the independent QBL line is set to complement WINTERSTEIGER's technical product expertise with additional know-how around design and storage systems. Customers will benefit from the continuity that comes with proven solutions while enjoying more choice thanks to additional design options.

Teaming up as international contenders

Christian Thaler, Managing Director of WINTERSTEIGER Sports GmbH, also emphasizes the company's strategic orientation: “We are investing strategically in the further development of our portfolio and are thereby strengthening our competitiveness at the international level. Our aim is to be able to support our customers in the implementation of their projects from start to finish. The acquisition of QBL is an important step in this direction.”

The previous owner of QBL, Wojciech Śliwka, will remain as managing director as well as heading up the new Storage Systems business field and driving it forward. “The merger with WINTERSTEIGER opens up new perspectives for our team, our products, and our customers. What makes QBL special, remains unchanged. QBL will also continue as a product brand within the portfolio. At the same time, we will combine design and Storage Systems know-how with WINTERSTEIGER’s technical product expertise. This will create a strong foundation for developing solutions that deliver real added value for the industry”,” says Śliwka.

Previous QBL owner Wojciech Śliwka and Christian Thaler, CEO of WINTERSTEIGER Sports, are looking forward to working together.
