From 30 % to almost 100 % coverage of demand, 700 m² per shift: how Veno built up a complete surface repair system

A Dutch oak flooring specialist eliminates two of the things holding it back at the same time – drying time and coverage gaps – with a dual TRC setup that delivers the right result for every material.

Veno Wood Flooring

A team of 40 make 500,000 m² of premium oak flooring with 3, 4, and 5 mm top layers at the Veno plant in the Netherlands every year. It is a company built on a single principle: quality at a fair price. Over a period of five years, Veno has continually expanded its WINTERSTEIGER technology base – from thin-cutting saws to a fully automatic dual system for surface repair.

Two restrictions. One strategy.

There were two clearly different aspects to Veno's challenges in surface repair – and it was not enough to just solve one of them.

The pain points

Manual filling did not deliver a consistent pressure, leaving knotholes not properly sealed and the surface suffered as a result.
Veno did not buy two machines; it built a system with each TRC optimized for a specific portion of its product range. The first automated system (TRC 1500) covered about 30 % of the portfolio while the remaining 70 % was still being repaired manually.
Every thermoplastic system on the market required 12–24 hours of drying time before the next process step, representing a major workflow restriction.

The solution: TRC 1500 + TRC 1550 Organic – two machines, one system

Veno did not buy two machines; it built a system, with each TRC optimized for a specific portion of its product range.

Zero drying time

Lamellas go immediately to the next step after filling with no waiting time and no stacking. This applies exclusively for the thermoplastic filling material, for which competitor models need 12–24 hours to cool. This is not a faster process but a fundamentally different production logic.

700 m² per 1.5 shifts

The production throughput with the TRC 1500 alone – a benchmark that Veno has confirmed in day-to-day operation.

1.5 million injections

Per injection head before maintenance is needed – predictable running times, calculable maintenance intervals.

Summary

The majority of investments in surface repair solve one problem. Veno's dual TRC setup solves two – and with the right solution for each application. Zero drying time where this is made possible by thermoplastic fillers, complete organic coverage where this is required. Nearly 100 % automation across the entire product range. In every surface there is more potential than an individual system can unlock. The key lies in the right combination.
