Investments: “World of WOODTECH” is growing
Due to the positive business development of SERRA, the decision was taken last year to expand the plant. A new hall is being constructed for logistics, welding, manufacturing, and office space. This should help secure future growth. In particular, the optimization taking place in logistics will have a positive impact on lead times for our sawmills. The expanded welding shop will enable SERRA to produce all its sawmill frames in-house as well. This will provide the capacity required to fulfill the high order volumes for the key component of the sawmill together with our reliable suppliers. Building work is progressing according to plan: The floor slab and steel frame for the new hall are already in place. We’ll be moving into the new hall in spring 2022.
More space at VAP-WINTERSTEIGER.
Expansion is also taking place at VAP-WINTERSTEIGER. Modern offices are being constructed for Engineering, Planning, Logistics, and Administration in the Mettmach industrial park. Bringing the workforce together on one site makes collaboration far easier. Production is being expanded by 300 m²; with the additional space being used for electrical assembly and logistics. The existing assembly hall (1,600 m²) is being adapted in order to optimize the assembly of high-quality systems. Construction work will be completed in the first quarter of 2022. This is a big step forward for VAP-WINTERSTEIGER.
The investments underline the company’s clear commitment to value creation and to its sites in Austria and Germany. This should help WOODTECH continue on its path to success. Our customers can also continue to rely on high-quality products from WINTERSTEIGER in the future.
