In the dynamic realm of agricultural innovation, it is crucial for agronomists, plant breeders, and seed researchers to keep their finger on the pulse of the farming world. That's where the Farm Progress Show comes in. For 70 years, the Farm Progress Show has connected farmers from across the globe with agriculture’s leading companies. With hundreds of exhibitors, there’s no better place to engage with the latest farm products and the specialists who developed, tested and designed them. While primarily geared toward introducing the latest innovations to legacy farmers and small to large-scale farm operations, the Farm Progress Show is an event that also offers tremendous value to agronomists and plant breeding professionals in many other ways.

Bridging the gap between researcher and farmer

One of the unique aspects of the Farm Progress Show is the opportunity it provides for agronomists and seed researchers to bridge the gap between your work and the farmers who rely on your end products. By spending time with the farmers and manufacturers of the equipment they use, professionals in these fields can gain invaluable insights and perspectives that shape their research and decision-making processes.

Interacting with farmers on the show grounds allows agronomists and seed researchers to witness firsthand how your work translates into practical applications in the field. Engaging in conversations with farmers offers a deep understanding of their challenges, preferences, and priorities. This direct feedback loop enables professionals to fine-tune their research objectives and develop solutions that are tailored to meet the real-world needs of farmers.

Furthermore, the Farm Progress Show provides a unique opportunity to connect with equipment manufacturers who are at the forefront of agricultural technology. By engaging in discussions with these manufacturers, agronomists and seed researchers can gain insights into the latest advancements in farm machinery and equipment. Understanding the capabilities and limitations of the equipment used by farmers can inform decisions related to seed selection, breeding programs, and cultivation practices. By forging connections with equipment manufacturers, professionals in these fields can explore collaborative opportunities and contribute their expertise to the development of tools that align with your research objectives.

By actively participating in the Farm Progress Show, agronomists and seed researchers can keep your finger on the pulse of the industry. This immersive experience allows you to stay connected with the farming community and the manufacturers shaping the future of agriculture. By cultivating relationships with both ends of the spectrum—the farmers who rely on your products and the equipment manufacturers who shape their implementation—professionals can ensure your research remains relevant, practical, and impactful in addressing the evolving needs of the agricultural landscape.
