WINTERSTEIGER impresses at LIGNA 2025

Under the motto “Cutting, Automating, Cleaning & Repairing,” WINTERSTEIGER presented itself as a strong innovation partner for the woodworking industry at LIGNA 2025. In Hall 27, Booth F60, the company made a strong impression with numerous innovations and proven technologies for precise wood processing. The high number of visitors and the great interest in its solutions emphasize WINTERSTEIGER's leading market position. With 1,433 exhibitors from 49 countries and around 78,000 visitors from 156 nations, LIGNA impressively confirmed its status as the world's leading industry trade fair in its 50th anniversary year.

Focus on innovation

A particular highlight was the world premiere of the DSB Singlehead Pro XM. This new thin-cutting band saw impressed the experts with its ability to precisely cut hard and soft wood in both dry and wet cutting with a cutting width of up to 660 mm. The machine, with a block width of 530 mm, was demonstrated live several times during the trade fair and attracted great interest, especially from wood panel manufacturers.

Also in the spotlight were the DSG Notum Pro with new 5-channel technology and the DSB Compact XM – a perfectly matched machine combination for producing sawed veneers with a thickness of only 1 mm. Thanks to minimal kerf and high energy efficiency, these machines offer an economical solution for modern wood processors.

With the new DSB Dura X-Tract saw blade, WINTERSTEIGER also presented a technological advancement in the field of tool technology. The specially processed strip steel material and innovative design ensure significant dust reduction, excellent cutting quality, and a significantly longer service life—a real added value for industrial use.

Automation for the future

Another focus on the trade fair was automation solutions for repairing glued laminated timber (GLT) and cross-laminated timber (CLT). WINTERSTEIGER showcased intelligent systems for scanning and automatically repairing defects – with various filling materials, including 2K and real wood, which were newly presented at the trade fair. These solutions enable a significant increase in efficiency in post-processing and contribute to quality optimization.

Strong presence of subsidiaries

The subsidiaries of WINTERSTEIGER Woodtech GmbH also had a prominent presence at LIGNA:

  • WINTERSTEIGER Sägen GmbH presented its complete range of block and cut-off band saw blades. The new X-Tract saw blades, which are also available for use in sawmills, were a particular highlight.
  • SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH impressed visitors with its new SX 140 block band saw, which is designed for log diameters of up to 140 cm. The portfolio was rounded off by the new BS 800 edging saw, the new CX-Plus control system, the ST 113 wood dryer, and the IronHorse forestry machines – a comprehensive range for modern sawmill operations.

Conclusion

LIGNA 2025 has once again demonstrated that WINTERSTEIGER is setting standards in wood processing with its innovative strength, technological expertise, and a clear focus on customer requirements. The numerous discussions with trade visitors from around the world and the positive response to the new products confirmed the success of the trade fair.
