The fully automated Bike Wash Station from WINTERSTEIGER impresses with innovation.

This year at the International Sporting Goods Exhibition Munich (ISPO Munich), the world’s largest sports trade show, WINTERSTEIGER AG received an ISPO Award for Velobrush, the fully automatic bicycle washing system.

For more than 40 years ISPO Munich has been a global platform for the industry and popular meeting place for sports business professionals from all over the world, driving innovation and hosting exciting events. The ISPO Award is one of the most established awards in the sports industry, but it is so much more than a seal of quality assurance. The prestigious ISPO Award is given to products and services that make the sport experience more enjoyable, more accessible, safer, or simply that motivate to experience the world of sports in all its diversity.

The ISPO international jury of experts meets four times per year to judge the applications. In the 3rd quarter of 2022, more than forty innovative sports and outdoor products made it to the finals. Of this, the WINTERSTEIGER Velobrush was one of sixteen to receive an ISPO award. "With this bike washing system, you can see that a lot of experience has gone into the product. In addition to cleaning the bikes gently, WINTERSTEIGER has also made sure that the system is resource-friendly and easy to operate." explains Dr. Regina Henkel, ISPO Award Jury Member & Editor ISPO.com.

Innovative cleaning concept.

The Velobrush impresses with its innovative concept that uses low-pressure water and gentle horizontal rotary brushes to clean the bike frame, sensitive components, and handlebars. A separate high-pressure cleaning unit ensures mud-free tires and rims. The attractive, completely enclosed wash station protects against overspray and keeps your work area clean whether you are using it indoors or out. The integrated high-performance filter system reduces water consumption and keeps energy consumption to a minimum.

"Our requirement was to develop a machine that washes all common types of bicycles efficiently, but also, above all, gently. That's why we don't work at high pressure in any sensitive area. The machine is suitable for e-bikes as well as for bikes with other electronic components. Bearings are also not damaged, which significantly reduces wear, especially in rental operations," says Patrick Hackl, Product Manager Bike & Services at WINTERSTEIGER AG. Bike service workshops and bicycle rental shops can save time and simplify the cleaning process and wash up to 35 bicycles per hour with the innovative and efficient WINTERSTEIGER Velobrush.
