On internship abroad in the UK: Learning by doing

Florian Tscherry and Karl David Binderberger, students of the HTL Ried and Braunau respectively, spent 4 weeks in August on an internship at our subsidiary TRIALS in the south of England. The internship was organized and financed by WINTERSTEIGER. The 19-strong TRIALS team supplies and supports seed growers and produces small batches for WINTERSTEIGER Seedmech.

Already in the second week, the two students were allowed to accompany the service technicians to customers. "You get a lot out of it, especially the language. We came into contact with a lot of people and everything was in English," reports Karl David Binderberger. They had learned the technical vocabulary the week before in the workshop while repairing combines and seed drills - it doesn't get any clearer than that. Florian Tscherry on the collaboration: "Everyone in the team was very helpful and we could ask questions at any time. Our colleagues quickly trusted us with the easier assembly work. The supervision was very good".

Big Ben and London Eye

The two students were accommodated in an apartment in the town of Braintree - with very good train connections to London. This meant that weekends were spent sightseeing. The household ran like clockwork and Florian and Karl managed to wash, clean and cook together. On the way to work, dinner was discussed and those who came home early started cooking. All in all, it was a unique experience for the young people and their comment: "Anytime again!"
