WINTERSTEIGER strengthens its international sports business with new acquisition

The successful acquisition of the Polish rental and shop solution provider QBL Systems increases the depth of added value within the WINTERSTEIGER Group and strengthens the competitiveness of the Division Sports.

 

The WINTERSTEIGER Group, headquartered in Ried im Innkreis, is continuing to expand its sports business. On March 9, the Upper Austrian machine and plant manufacturer acquired the Polish company QBL Systems. QBL is an established provider of rental and shop solutions for sports retailers, cable car operators, rental service providers, and hoteliers. This move complements WINTERSTEIGER's existing portfolio through the addition of extra design and equipment expertise.

 

Acquiring QBL is part of a clear forward strategy through which WINTERSTEIGER is strengthening its international competitiveness, expanding its own vertical integration, and further developing its range of shop and equipment solutions. “This step is a clear commitment to integrated solutions in the sports segment. By pooling technical expertise and design know-how, we can provide our customers with even more comprehensive support and be more holistic in our approach to project realization. This marks us out us as a strong and reliable partner,” emphasizes CEO Pierre Bilgeri. Welcoming QBL to the WINTERSTEIGER Group also opens up new prospects for international sales, which is the basis for further growth.

 

Founded in 2004 and based in Goleszów in southern Poland, QBL Systems employs 100 people and most recently generated annual sales of around 8.5 million euros. Its acquisition creates a central hub in Poland for the newly created Storage Systems business field. The previous owner of QBL, Wojciech Śliwka, will remain as managing director of the company as well as becoming head of the new business field. WINTERSTEIGER is thereby ensuring continuity for a partnership-based integration and joint growth.
