Girls' Day! Get a feel for industry at WINTERSTEIGER
7 female pupils visited WINTERSTEIGER AG for Girls' Day to learn about apprenticeships, working conditions, career opportunities, and much more.
Girls' Day takes place annually across Austria and is a great way for girls to learn about technical professions in a real-life corporate environment. At WINTERSTEIGER, the students first received an overview of the company and the training program. The day then turned to practical work and the girls were allowed to try out beginner's metalworking techniques in either the electronics, assembly or training workshops. Under the watchful eyes of the WINTERSTEIGER staff, the students worked diligently, demonstrating a great degree of technical skill. The day's varied program was coordinated by apprentice instructor Christian Scharnböck, who is responsible for the apprenticeship program at the WINTERSTEIGER training center.
WINTERSTEIGER currently has around 50 apprentices at its site in Ried. Along with the professional aspect, part of the program is dedicated to seminars on personal development. What's more, there is the option to start the Matura (an Austrian high school exit qualification) from the second year of training.
