Friction stir welding (FSW) produces sheets which are then further processed into various parts.
These components require absolute "air tightness" and perfect welding. For this reason, the customer requested friction stir welding.
By selectively exact friction using a special welding pin, two aluminium panels are welded together almost entirely in a vacuum-tight, consistent and seamless way.Using this method, part distortion is prevented by low heat and perfect control of clamping force as well as high-precision positioning of the NC axes.
