A round number: 100 electric cars at WINTERSTEIGER
The “Social Car” mobility project has been a resounding success at WINTERSTEIGER: Since the last delivery, 88 employees have been driving company-subsidized electric cars under the motto “Think Green.” Employees can choose from the VW ID.3, Cupra Born, and Fiat 500 Electric models. Including the electric company cars, the company already has more than 100 electric vehicles—nearly one in six WINTERSTEIGER employees drives an electric vehicle. Alongside the expansion of the fleet, loading stations on company grounds are being rapidly expanded: there are already 20 electric parking spaces, and a 150-kW fast-charging station recently went into operation. To sustainably meet the electricity demand for electric mobility, WINTERSTEIGER has expanded the existing photovoltaic plant at its headquarters in Ried to its current capacity of 500 kilowatt-peak (kWp).
“We’re very proud of this great initiative. With the affordable Social Car, we’re expanding WINTERSTEIGER’s service area to include cities such as Linz, Steyr, and Enns. The cool, fresh design immediately catches the eye,” explains HR Director Elisabeth Kriechbaumer, who is implementing the project together with three colleagues. The offer is available to all employees at the seven WINTERSTEIGER sites in Austria. In addition to Ried, this includes Mettmach and St. Martin, as well as Vienna, Altach, and Bartholomäberg in Vorarlberg, and Liezen in Styria.
