How do you test machines that will eventually operate in a completely different power grid?

7/18/2024

Our 16 third-year apprentices have recently been working very intensively on this question. As part of their apprenticeship project, they developed and built a special voltage generator that can simulate the various power grid conditions in countries such as the U.S. or Japan. This allows for the testing of machines that are shipped to countries with different voltage standards.

The apprenticeship project is an important part of the training program at WINTERSTEIGER: All third-year apprentices work together—and largely independently—on a project, from budgeting and development all the way through to production. The project culminates in a presentation to the Management Board, foremen, and trainers, as well as many interested colleagues.

The project underscores the high standard of our apprenticeship program and the outstanding skills of our next generation of employees. Dear apprentices, congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
