HTL Ried and WINTERSTEIGER Reaffirm Their Partnership

Ever since HTL Ried was founded in 2002, the WINTERSTEIGER Machinery and Plant Engineering Group has been a key sponsor of the school, which describes itself as “the innovative HTL for mechanical engineering.” At a recent meeting, the HTL’s leadership team, led by Principal Wolfgang Billinger, and representatives from WINTERSTEIGER—led by CTO Thomas Fürkötter—looked back on their shared successes and agreed to continue their close collaboration.

“HTL Ried is a hub of innovation in our immediate neighborhood, from which not only WINTERSTEIGER but also the entire region can benefit. These young, up-and-coming talents consistently impress us with their drive, curiosity, and creative ideas. It is precisely this lively spirit of discovery that we want to continue fostering,” said Thomas Fürkötter, CTO of WINTERSTEIGER Holding AG.

In the last three years alone, WINTERSTEIGER has supported 12 high school seniors with their graduation projects and provided nearly 20 HTL students with summer internships in Ried. In addition, WINTERSTEIGER sponsors internship positions every year—including airfare and accommodations—at its English subsidiary, Trials Equipment—a unique opportunity for young people to gain international experience. In 2024, two students from HTL Ried were selected through the application process and can now look forward to an exciting summer in southern England.
