New Apprentices: WINTERSTEIGER Is Investing in the Next Generation

8/18/2025

Nine young people are starting their apprenticeships at the internationally active machine manufacturer.

The new year of training began at WINTERSTEIGER on August 18. Nine young people began their training in five different apprenticeships: three each in metal technology and electrical engineering, and one each in mechatronics, operations logistics, and office administration. The new apprentices come from across the district—from Antiesenhofen to Ried to Schildorn.

“Apprenticeship training is a central component of our corporate strategy,” explains Florestan von Boxberg, CEO of the internationally active machinery and plant engineering group. “We are making a conscious investment in the next generation to ensure long-term innovation and technical expertise at our site.” The nine apprentices will be supported by an experienced team of trainers and will gain insights into modern technologies and processes over the next three years or so.

In addition to providing a solid technical education, the program also focuses on instilling core values. Team spirit, personal responsibility, and reliability, for example, are integral parts of the training and shape the day-to-day work environment from the very beginning. “Our values provide guidance and create an environment in which young talent can grow and flourish over the long term,” says Boxberg.

In total, WINTERSTEIGER currently employs about 60 apprentices in nine different apprenticeships at its Ried site.
