Two Projects, Double the Enthusiasm: Apprentices Show Off Their Skills

7/22/2025

The WINTERSTEIGER apprentices from the class of 2022 presented two exciting projects as part of their apprenticeship program—demonstrating not only technical skill but also creativity, team spirit, and a sense of responsibility.

Cross-Conveyor Shaft: Safe, Mobile, Well-Designed

Seven apprentices developed a device that will make it easier to install and remove the cross-conveyor shaft on our plot combines in the future. The design engineering is CE-compliant, easy to operate, and can be moved by hand, with a hand pallet truck, or with a forklift. It is stored in a space-saving manner on a stackable pallet. The cross-conveyor shaft itself can also be reassembled directly on the device. This not only saves a considerable amount of time but also significantly improves workplace safety.

Pinball Machine: Technology Meets Fun

Nine apprentices built a fully functional pinball machine for internal and external events. The machine fits on a Euro pallet, is portable, and was constructed largely from existing materials. Highlights include the creative playfield design, fun light and sound effects, the ball-launching mechanism, and an automatic scoring system. Our apprentices also implemented this project in compliance with CE standards.

What’s Behind the Apprentice Project?

The apprentice project is an integral part of the training program at WINTERSTEIGER. In their third year of training, the apprentices independently take on the planning and implementation of a technical project—from budgeting and development all the way through to production. The project culminates in a presentation to the Management Board, master craftsmen and women, trainers, and many interested colleagues. Congratulations to both teams on the fantastic execution of your projects. You have impressively demonstrated just how much innovative potential lies within the apprenticeship program!
