WINTERSTEIGER Supports the Agricultural Technology Class at HTL Ried

Through a new class sponsorship program, WINTERSTEIGER is strengthening its partnership with HTL Ried and sending a clear message in support of hands-on technical education in the region.

Supporting the next generation with a strong focus on practical experience: The machinery and plant engineering manufacturer WINTERSTEIGER has once again taken on the sponsorship of a class at HTL Ried. For two years, the company will support the 21 students currently in their third year and provide them with insights into modern industrial processes. The fact that this is exclusively an agricultural technology class makes the sponsorship all the more valuable, as this field is closely linked to WINTERSTEIGER’s technologies and markets.

“WINTERSTEIGER is an established specialist in the field of field trial technology. The sponsorship thus ties directly into the field in which our students are being trained and provides hands-on access to technologies that will later play a central role in their professional lives,” confirm Acting Director DI Karl Angleitner and Vice Principal DI Johann Scherrer of HTL Ried.

Experience cutting-edge technology firsthand

As part of the partnership, the students will spend time until January 2028 getting to know all areas of WINTERSTEIGER’s operations in Ried—not just field trial technology. For example, they’ll get to have their skis sharpened on a fully automated service machine, complete design exercises using virtual reality in the wood processing department, and—as part of the HTL Forestry Technology Week—even receive training on a mobile sawmill from the subsidiary Serra, based in Rimsting, Bavaria. Of course, digital solutions and modern manufacturing processes are also on the agenda: “We want to inspire young people with a passion for technology and show them how versatile and practical today’s industry is,” emphasizes Michael Glechner, Head of the Central Mechanical Engineering Division at WINTERSTEIGER and the lead coordinator for the sponsorship program. Soft skills offerings round out the program, such as job application training to help students transition from school to the workforce.

WINTERSTEIGER has been supporting HTL Ried since its founding in 2002—whether through material donations, internships, or thesis projects—and is now sponsoring an HTL class for the third time. First-year students also regularly use the company’s modern training workshop for hands-on assignments.
