Team strips soaked with sweat, scruffy soccer boots, the smell of perspiration, and chaos in the changing rooms – this has all become a thing of the past at NMS 1 Brucknerschule in Ried. The children’s sports clothing is stored and professionally dried in drying lockers from WINTERSTEIGER AG.

Items are stored neatly and are hygienically and gently dried in the drying lockers. Sports teacher Elmar Springer: “The odor has improved significantly since introducing the lockers. The sports gear is dried over lunchtime between the morning and afternoon training sessions and is then ready to use again. It was important to us to be able to lock the lockers. Now everything is stored neatly and we no longer have to have a lengthy search for the left and right soccer boots.”

Two drying lockers provide enough space for 70 pairs of soccer boots, which are evenly dried using drying nozzles. Not only is this professional drying system energy-efficient, according to WINTERSTEIGER it also protects the material so that the soccer boots last longer. The team strips are stored in a separate drying locker.

For head teacher Irene Horn, the new lockers are also a matter of motivation: “We’re the first school to have drying lockers of this kind. Before tournaments, our children on sports programs train almost daily and they should be able to get going in dry kits.”

WINTERSTEIGER is the global market leader in ski rental and storage solutions. Its product range includes open and closed locker systems for the drying, germ reduction, and odor neutralization of all kinds of sports kit, work clothing, and uniforms.
