WINTERSTEIGER gifts machine to HTL Ried technical college

WINTERSTEIGER gifts an "iron bending press" to the HTL Ried technical college.

WINTERSTEIGER AG recently gave a "horizontal iron bending press" to HTL Ried technical college. The press, which was formerly in use at WINTERSTEIGER's production facility before being replaced by a machine with a greater press force, is still in good condition and is used to bend smaller parts made from iron.

Erich Zahrer, deputy workshop manager at the HTL Ried technical college, plans to use the machine for practical training. “Until now, the students had to weld the parts together, but that is no longer necessary thanks to this bending machine. Our students also learn how to operate the machine,” he explains. One workpiece that will be used on the bending machine in future is a fire pit, such as those seen in many gardens.

Cooperation between business and college.

Sixteen years ago, WINTERSTEIGER became one of the first sponsors of the newly established technical college, HTL Ried. “As a founding member of the regional association set up to support the college, we have actively assisted them with many projects. In 2017 we began sponsoring the first-year students of the agricultural and environmental engineering course,” says Christian Rauscher, Chief Technical Officer at WINTERSTEIGER.

Director Wolfgang Billinger and Dr. Martin Anzengruber, head of the agricultural and environmental engineering faculty at the college, see a great advantage in this cooperation. Their students benefit from a strong practical focus and can see first-hand where their education can take them.
