"I started my apprentice not completely by choice, but the fascination of skiing in an international company already appealed to me as a 15-year old boy and was my motivation.
The training years passed and I was able to spend time at many stations in production. I started taking courses for the "Berufsreifeprüfung" (a vocational matriculation examination), but I still didn't have any specific goals in mind.
A quick question from my boss: does anyone want to participate in a winter season in a skiing resort? I agreed without hesitation and my path was mapped out: a 3-year season in Semmering with experience in sports machine production in between. I was then taken on in the customer service department, where I started in export and traveled from Salt Lake City to Tokyo and from Moscow to Dubai. After this I worked as customer service office staff for export markets, then I worked in Germany, and then I specialized increasingly in the field of ski racing.
Now I am Area Sales Manager and Key Account Manager for Racing. I am the first point of contact when it comes to machines and expertise in racing ski service. It makes me proud to be able to give the racing teams a few tips and I am ultimately a small piece in a successful jigsaw puzzle. My interests and ambition got me to where I am now – I had to go many an extra mile along the way, but I never regretted any of it. Now, at age 41, some very exciting projects await me and I am really looking forward to these."
