The Highlight Towers are a landmark of modern architecture in Munich. Extending to 126 meters and 113 meters in height, the twin office towers are situated at Münchner Tor between Mittlerer Ring and German motorway 9 in the district of Schwabing. Planned by Chicago architects Murphy/Jahn and completed in 2004, the complex houses 70,000 square meters of office space. The buildings’ best known tenants are Fujitsu, IBM, Strabag, and Tengelmann.

The internationally active automotive supplier WKW Group has subsidiaries worldwide with approx. 3,800 employees. The WKW Group specialises in the production of aluminium parts such as aluminium sheets, roof railing systems and many other important aluminium components for almost all car manufacturers.

"We were looking for an effective drying system for our foundry clothing. These are changed after casting, wet from welding, before the colleagues go on break. In addition to jackets and trousers, our work clothes also include gloves and helmets that have to be dried. It is extremely important for us to get the body odour out of the clothes during the drying process. Although the work clothes are changed and washed regularly, they are no longer fresh after the first cast," says Achim Petry, Casthouse Manager of the WKW Group from the Wuppertal branch.

From there to Lillehammer and the home World Cup in Ramsau am Dachstein. In January, the dryer travels to Otepää, Klingenthal, Chaux Neuve and Seefeld. In February, Oberstdorf, Schonach and the World Championships in Planica are on the agenda. The season ends in Oslo and Lahti.

Stationed west of Graz, Markus Bratschko and the employees at ASFINAG Autobahnmeisterei Unterwald work day in, day out to make sure driving on the A2 south highway is safe. The A2 has seen some particularly treacherous conditions during recent winters, not least due to the extreme snowfall and its exposed location along the Southern Alps. “During the winter months, my team of 16 is ready for anything with its six snow plow trucks,” explains Markus Bratschko, highway maintenance manager in Unterwald. “Throughout this time, my people are working round the clock in really tough conditions. The town of Bad Schwalbach in the Main-Taunus district of South Hesse is surrounded by its own forests, which are managed by a dedicated group of forestry workers. Due to the weather-dependent and physically demanding work involved, the staff wanted an option for drying their work clothes at the end of the day. At the Christophorus support center in Kitzbühel speed is always of the essence, regardless of whether a new rescue mission is in progress or equipment needs to be dried during a break. “We opted for a WINTERSTEIGER Tantum Set 4 including Sterex due to the drying system's high-quality industrial design and maximum efficiency levels. Even when our jackets are completely soaked through, it only takes 2-3 hours to dry them,” explains Cpt. Christophorus air rescue service in Kitzbühel relies on Tantum

The Riegl voluntary fire department (FF Riegl) in Frankenburg am Hausruck, Austria, received the Econ&nbsp;Universal drying locker just at the right time. After the call outs due to severe weather in the summer, the fire hoses and the crew's equipment were dried quickly, reliably, and easily in the locker located in the vehicle room.

Deputy Commander OBI Martin Möseneder lists the advantages of the new drying solution: “One is the time savings, as we no longer have to perform the time-consuming process of unrolling and rolling up the hoses. When we return from a call out, we simply take the hoses out of the vehicle and then put them into the drying locker. The drying time of about 14 hours is also much shorter compared to the hose tower, where the hoses hung for up to a week.

But the most decisive factor for the investment in the drying locker was the cost: the alternative would have been to build a new hose lift and that would've cost about three times as much.”

Universal genius with low energy consumption.

The new drying locker is not called Econ&nbsp;Universal for nothing: the FF Riegl team can dry hoses on five levels or up to eight complete sets of equipment, including jackets and trousers, respirators, boots, and gloves. The five stainless steel grids on which the hoses are currently placed to dry can be removed individually. The drying nozzles for gloves and boots are positioned between them. It is possible to switch between drying the hoses and drying the fire suits within a very short time. The locker is as flexible as it is easy to use. Martin Möseneder confirms: “We start the drying process at the push of a button. If we switch from clothing to hoses, we can change the drying time in the menu. It's so easy to do.”

The drying technology is an energy-saving condensation process. This means the moisture condenses on copper pipes inside the locker and is discharged into a container or can also be discharged into the waste water system by simply repositioning the condensate hose. The energy consumption is therefore considerably lower than with comparable devices. Another benefit of this drying solution is that the hoses are dried very gently with modern air circulation fans, and only the outer fabric is dried – the rubber layer on the inside of the hose is protected.

Another technical feature of the locker is its use of innovative Sterex plasma technology. A plasma-air mixture that acts as an extremely effective disinfectant is fed into the locker via the hangers. This proven technology is also used in drinking water treatment, for example. The clothing is dried in the locker and also disinfected at the same time. “Motorcyclists should feel comfortable when riding. This includes making sure equipment is clean, smells good, and does not detract in any way from the ride. Previously, we cleaned boots and helmets laboriously with disinfectant spray and had to remove the inner parts to do so. Now the clothing is simply hung in the locker. It is straightforward and any potential unpleasant odors are neutralized,” reports Nadine Statz, responsible for marketing cooperations at BMW Motorrad Germany.&nbsp;

Always safe on the road.

Beginners or returners like to get a taste of motorcycling before they actively enter traffic. Their own motorcycle gear is then often not (or is no longer) available. Rental gear from BMW Motorrad and the drying lockers from Wintersteiger come into play for these riding safety training courses. The lockers are part of the safety concept: “Coronavirus regulations did not permit the issuing of motorcycle gear and so courses could not be booked for a long time. In autumn, when people spend more time indoors again, air purifiers become even more important to provide the best possible protection against infections. To ensure safe school or kindergarten attendance in Rimsting, Bavaria, Franz Fischer sought a practical solution at the request of Mayor Andreas Fenzl. In a doctor's office, the risk of infection is always an issue and patients are often concerned to come to the practice “with all the sick people”. This is particularly the case during the pandemic but also during flu season, for example. Quality is an important criterion, especially when it comes to childcare – and this also applies to kindergarten equipment. To ensure that children can slip into dry shoes and clothes after long periods outdoors, in rain or snow, Admont kindergarten and day nursery has opted for professional drying equipment from WINTERSTEIGER.

Customized drying locker for Europe's largest motorcycle manufacturer Special edition Combi Eco for KTM test track in Spain  Things get pretty heated on the fast-paced test tracks of Europe's largest motorcycle manufacturer – whether the Spanish sun is beating down or the rain has begun. To ensure test riders have hygienically dry clothing and equipment at all times, KTM had a Combi Eco drying locker from WINTERSTEIGER individually adapted to the needs of the company.  "We already had an identical drying locker in use at our development center in Mattighofen,” says Tobias Stadler, Team Leader Test Street Research &amp; Development at KTM AG. As a motorcyclist, you are exposed to all weathers, and as a driving instructor or learner driver, you also have to drive in the rain. Driving school owner Josef Wintersteller has solved the issue of wet driving gear with the Combi&nbsp;1300 group drying locker from WINTERSTEIGER.

Combi Eco drying locker

Instead of building a drying tower, the St. Georgen volunteer fire department decided to purchase a Drytech drying locker from Wintersteiger. Previously, the fire department dried their hoses using an inclined hose drying system, in which the fire hoses are suspended between the ceiling and the floor at an angle of 30°. Not only was this laborious, the drying result was also not ideal: the hoses sagged in the middle or hung together at the edges, therefore remaining wet. The Multi Eco drying locker for fire hoses is a special solution that was implemented especially for the St. Georgen volunteer fire department.
