General FAQs
The drying locker/drying panel is supplied as a plug & play product. This means it simply needs to be connected to a power outlet and can then be used immediately. Only our drying panels with wall holder need to be mounted on the wall first. To do so, simply mark the relevant positions for the dowel holes on the wall, drill, fit the dowels, and mount the drying panel. And then, plug it in and activate it right away!
The two exhaust air versions Tantum and Primus require an ambient temperature of at least 15 °C to operate efficiently/for quick drying.
The condensation drying versions in our Econ series can be used effectively from an ambient temperature of 7 °C.
For consistently high extraction of moisture regardless of the ambient temperature, the Econ condensation dryers are ideal. For operation at low ambient temperatures and to prevent additional humidity in the room, they also have a clear advantage over the Tantum and Primus exhaust air versions.
Basically, both drying systems are equally as efficient and deliver version-specific comparable heating power. Only when drying trousers and jackets does the Primus product version offer a slight advantage due to heat build-up in the locker solution.
The control is self-explanatory and can be easily operated, even by laypersons, in just a few steps.
All Dry & Protect products are made of hot-dip galvanized sheet steel with a high-quality powder coating in RAL 7016 anthracite gray. This coating offers optimum corrosion protection – even upon contact with seawater, such as is the case on a daily basis in fishing. The available stainless steel versions are however essential for specific industries such as the food industry for legal reasons.
It is precisely the combination of drying and disinfection that makes WINTERSTEIGER Dry & Protect products so ideal for such a wide range of applications. Therefore, when in doubt, we recommend always ordering the low-cost and maintenance-free Sterex disinfection unit too.
The Center of Excellence for Technical Hygiene and Applied Microbiology Dr. Schmelz GmbH in Malsfeld, Germany has proven and certified the disinfectant efficacy of 99.9 percent.
Yes, but retrofitting is very cost-intensive. This should be taken into account when purchasing the Dry & Protect product.
Our Dry & Protect products are particularly low maintenance. So, for example, only the air intake louvers on the rear of the device need to be vacuumed/cleared of dust at regular intervals.
The WINTERSTEIGER Dry & Protect products are offered as a variable range for a wide variety of industries – including fire departments.
Therefore the right product should be selected based on your specific needs. Only if combination options for drying several items is expressly required, would we strongly advise the Econ Universal drying locker. This has been specially developed for versatile use – and is ideal for quickly drying shoes, boots, helmets, gloves, and clothes.

Our drying systems require very little maintenance. Scan the QR code on your device to access the operating instructions for your device. In the “Maintenance and servicing” section, you will find information on regular checks and cleaning and when you should carry them out. Following these two simple steps is sufficient to ensure that your device functions properly in the long term.
Depending on local conditions, we recommend servicing every two years.
Tip: Carefully blow out the intake grille with compressed air and then thoroughly vacuum up any remaining dust.
