Our company history
From Steurer to WINTERSTEIGER
The success story begins with Steurer Systems, a manufacturer of ski storage systems, drying cabinets, and wardrobe solutions founded in Vorarlberg, Austria, in 1962. Decades of experience and innovative strength made Steurer Systems the leading provider of high-quality storage and drying systems.
In 2020, the WINTERSTEIGER Group from Ried im Innkreis/Upper Austria acquired a majority stake in Steurer Systems and founded Steurer Trocknungs- und Aufbewahrungssysteme GmbH. This combination of technical expertise and global strength laid the foundation for a new era in hygienic drying and disinfection.
Built for the future
On January 1, 2025, Steurer Trocknungs- und Aufbewahrungssysteme GmbH was officially renamed WINTERSTEIGER Dry & Protect GmbH. This step created an independent division within the WINTERSTEIGER Group with a focus on drying, disinfection, and odor removal. Based on our innovative Sterex plasma technology, we create unique and sustainable solutions that have been proven to make our customers' lives safer, more comfortable, and healthier.
