Long night of research: lots to see at WINTERSTEIGER

On Friday, several hundred visitors took advantage of the “Long Night of Research” event in Ried to take a look behind the scenes at WINTERSTEIGER, the versatile machine and plant engineering group. At five exciting stations, they were able to experience the wide range of products and the great innovative spirit of the company founded 70 years ago.

 

On display was one of the world's most modern plot combine harvesters, with which WINTERSTEIGER makes an important contribution to successful seed breeding research, as well as the latest generation of ski service machines, which literally put the finishing touches to the skis of international racing superstars and thus regularly set new records. A digital thin-cutting band saw was another highlight of the program, with a live demonstration showing visitors how resource-efficient the wood repair process can be. In the "Smart Factory Lab", the modern training workshop, projects were presented that prepare WINTERSTEIGER trainees for the modern working world. And during the concluding production tour, the participants learned how component development is optimized with 3D printing.
